The subcontractor started tearing up the carpet and prepping the floor for the wood flooring

First Red Flag

Peter introduced the subcontractor as the foremen on the kitchen renovation. We thought this was strange as Peter stated before that he had his own crew. One person was not a crew and from I understood about construction a foreman is usually a manager of other people yet there were no other people other than this individual. When I asked the subcontractor if he was employed by Peter he said no, and this was the first job that he did for Peter. I would have thought that Peter would have been the foreman since he was the general contractor.
